Richard Gill and Dr John Feierabend confirmed as presenters
Dr. John Feierabend is considered one of the leading authorities on music and movement development in early childhood. He is a Professor of Music and the Director of Music Education at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford and is a past President of the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
Dr. Feierabend’s teaching has provided thousands of teachers and their students with the materials and techniques to help build community through music by evoking enthusiastic participation of all people. To that end his approach strives for all people to become tuneful, beatful and artful through research based and developmentally appropriate pedagogies that use quality literature. In the summer of 2012 a group of dedicated and like-minded educators honored Dr. Feierabend’s 40 years of work with the formation of the Feierabend Association for Music Education.
Richard Gill is one of Australia’s pre-eminent and most admired conductors specialising in opera, musical theatre and vocal and choral training and is internationally respected as a music educator. Richard’s work in developing young musicians and creating opportunities for them is recognised world-wide. He is Founding Music Director and Conductor Emeritus of Victorian Opera and also Artistic Director of the Education Program for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He has been Artistic Director of OzOpera, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, and the Adviser for the Musica Viva In Schools program.

The NSW Branch of the Kodály Music Education Institute of Australia (KMEIA) invites educators and performers working with music students of all ages from Pre-school to Secondary, to submit an application to present an Elective Workshop, Paper or Concert at the Kodály National Conference. Presentations are to be of interest to music education professionals.

We are very excited to announce the website for the National Conference is now live.
The website will be updated as details for the conference are confirmed.
All conference sessions have been endorsed for Professional Development hours with the Institute of Teachers NSW through our affiliation with the Professional Teachers Council NSW. If you are a New Scheme Teacher make sure you log your hours.
