Registrations are coming in, the elective presenters have received their invitations and the program is shaping up.

Registrations Open

Register now at https://sites.google.com/site/kodaly2014/registration You can do an online registration or download a print friendly form if you prefer.
Register (and pay) by 16 May 2014 to be eligible for the Super Earlybird discount – which is $100 off your full registration cost!
For those new to this list, the conference will be held at Ascham School in Sydney and our Keynote presenters are: Lilla Gábor (Hungary), Chris Shepard (USA), Richard Gill (Australia), Dr John Feierabend (USA) and Deanna Hoermann (Australia)

Key Presenter Spotlight – Dr John Feierabend

Dr. John Feierabend is considered one of the leading authorities on music and movement development in early childhood. He is a Professor of Music and the Director of Music Education at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford and is a past President of the Organization of American Kodály Educators.

Dr. Feierabend promotes music education through frequent presentations in the United States and abroad. He is the author of more than 70 books, recordings, and DVDs, many of which served as the inspiration for the award winning PBS children’s television series Lomax: The Hound of Music.

Accreditation update

Kodaly Music Education Institute of Australia, NSW, through the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW – Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) (formerly the NSW Institute of Teachers) as the endorsed provider of Institute Registered professional development for the maintenance of accreditation at Proficient Teacher level.

Scope of Endorsement:

  • All Standards of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the level of Proficient and Highly Accomplished teacher
  • Standards 1-6 of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the level of Lead teacher

Selected sessions at the KMEIA National Conference 2014 are registered with BOSTES for professional development at Proficient Teacher level. These sessions address the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: 1.2.2; 2.1.2; 3.3.2; 6.2.6; 7.4.2.
Onsite Accommodation – update!

We have just heard that we will have details shortly about the rooms available in the boarding house at the school. We will post these to the website as soon as we have them and let you know.

Advertising and Sponsorship Opportunities
Trade Displays and Static Display spaces are available in the central area of the venue. A range of advertising options are available including advertising in the conference handbook and inserts in participants’ bags. Sponsors may also be interested in sponsoring various elements of the conference including: keynote sessions, workshops, conference dinner and concerts.
