About the CD:

The Workshop: This workshop will begin at the beginning - How to teach very basic intonation exercises in 2 or more parts, while reinforcing the pentatonic tonalities. All workshop participants will receive a copy of the Purely Pentatonic CD and we will show you how to get the best out of it! Come along and learn some strategies on how to introduce, reinforce and assess the ability to sing and recognise intervals in the pentatonic scales. There will be extension activities shown for performing and working with all of the 5 pentatonic scales, as well as some ways to incorporate these skills into repertoire practice, and quick writing tasks at all levels.
Presenter: Tess Laird has been a primary music specialist with Education Qld for almost 18 years and has a Masters degree in Music Studies from University of Queensland and has been a lecturer for the UQ Summer Music Programme since its inception. Tess has provided in-service and support for other music specialists in both Qld and NSW
