The Kodály concept is one of many appoaches to teaching music. As a parent, you might come into contact with it through your child's music teacher at school, through your search for a music programme for your child or just out of curiosity. The approach has been growing in popularity here in Australia for the past 35 years. Australian music educators first saw this approach being used in Hungary during the 60s and 70s. It attracted their attention because of the excellent results that Hungarian music teachers were achieving en mass with children of average music ability. |
Do-Re-Mi
![]() | do-re-mi Music for Children is a Kodály singing-based program, which caters for children from birth to 7 years. These classes are fun-filled group lessons which focus on beat, rhythm, in-tune singing, games, dances and activities to enhance aural development. In addition to providing an excellent foundation for later instrumental studies, the program also provides opportunities for enhancing the development of a child's memory, motor co-ordination, socialization and confidence building skills. |
