Western Australian Branch

The Kodály Music Education Institute of Australia WA Branch Inc. was formed in 2010 to promote the Kodaly concept to West Australian music teachers. We offer professional development for teachers, including our annual Spring Symposium, Kodaly Methodology PD, Musicianship Classes and Open Classroom Observation Sessions.

Our members receive a quarterly newsletter and email updates for any upcoming events and news.

Welcome from the President

It is the vision of the Western Australian Kodály committee to assist music educators and musicians to develop individually and to be able to learn fundamental concepts about the Kodály method. In 2011 and beyond KMEIA WA will be offering quality professional development sessions in musicianship/solfège, choral conducting, Primary and Secondary Kodály Pedagogical training, classroom observation, choral singing and repertoire sessions. By orgainising and providing professional development using Kodály methods at conferences, seminars, classes, lectures and demonstrations will to assist teachers/musicians, collectively we will be able to enrich the lives of young Australians through quality music education.

New South Wales Branch

About Us

KMEIA's New South Wales Branch was first formed 25 years ago. The current NSW Branch of KMEIA runs regular Teacher Training Courses including courses leading to the Australian Kodály Certificate and workshops for music teachers. We also conduct Music Classes for Young Children under the auspices of Do-Re-Mi the Kodály Way

ACT Branch

About us

The ACT Committee is an enthusiastic group of people actively involved in the presentation of quality workshops for teachers in the ACT and surrounding areas of NSW.The group first formed in 1983 and has since held regular workshops offering a range of professional developments in Musicianship and Methodology that included quality local, interstate and overseas presenters.

Queensland Branch

The Kodály Music Education Institute of Australia, Queensland Branch, Inc. includes a central branch based in Brisbane and three regional chapters: The Far North (Cairns), Townsville and Mackay.

A number of workshops and special events, including annual 'Winter schools,' rotate between the chapters; Mackay Choral Festival and the Early Childhood Music Conference (also rotated) are organised by the central branch and chapters.

South Australian Branch

The South Australian Branch was founded in 1978 by Margaret Lange and has been an active branch ever since.
